We have a group of dedicated volunteers who provide a safe space for people to talk and be heard in our Bereavement Support sessions held in the Sr. Elizabeth Kelly Room on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 2pm - 4pm.
Over the years we have become increasingly aware of the need for people to come together to remember their loved ones who have died. We felt that sometimes people need and want a place to sit with, think about, pray for and be with their lost loved ones. The Time to Remember Service is a short ecumenical service that a group of volunteers put together with readings, music and quiet time to do this. There is also opportunity to write in the memory books and add a prayer or name to the prayer trees.
It was a special time to reflect and be with our own loss in whatever way we needed to.
Thank you too to all the hospitality team for providing drinks and biscuits afterwards. Was lovely to have so many people stay and chat.
This year all who attended were given a butterfly made from seeded paper to plant at home in memory of the loved ones they had lost.
